Born and raised in the bayou country of Southwestern Louisiana, Kevin Scrantz comes from a long line of storytellers and began selling feature stories to newspapers while still in high school.

After living in California and Miami, Scrantz returned to Louisiana where he continues to work as a feature writer. He has optioned three screenplays, won the Silver Award at WorldFest Houston for MARIE LAVEAU in 1995, was a Nicholl Fellowship Quarter-Finalist with ANGEL HILL, and has had several scripts featured in the Top 3 on Coppola's American Zoetrope website.

Scrantz recently completed THE OYSTER DANCER, his first novel.
