After early success writing and directing the play "The Dust Behind the Door," David wrote, directed and produced two film shorts, THE BUM and WHAT MAGIC SLEPT, before directing and producing his first feature film, BLOSSOM TIME, starring Laurel Holloman. BLOSSOM TIME world-premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and went on to win several awards on the festival circuit, including the Audience Award Best Feature Film at the Florida Film Festival. In 2001, David enjoyed another successful run on the festival circuit with his satirical short film THE GRIMM CYCLE. David has worked on numerous film productions, handling positions
on all ends of the budget spectrum, from the guerilla pictures of Roger Corman to assisting A-list producers on studio pictures such as JERRY
MAGUIRE, AS GOOD AS IT GETS, POWDER, ANYWHERE BUT HERE, SIMON BIRCH, THE
OBJECT OF MY AFFECTION, DEEP RISING, ROMY AND MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL
REUNION, TOM AND HUCK and OLIVER TWIST (TV). David has written numerous
screenplays. He occasionally accepts writing assignments offered by the industry
and provides professional criticism for Creative Screenwriting
magazine. Currently, David is in the financing stages for his next
big movie and is attached to several projects in development. |
